Final Fantasy VII Revelation Includes Auto Level-Up Option For Players Who Skip Side Quests
Hamaguchi says it's a response to player feedback
by Liam Doolan · Nintendo LifeIf you don't want to do all the side content in the upcoming ARPG Final Fantasy VII Revelation, it seems there'll be a way to streamline the third and final chapter.
During an interview with IGN Japan at the Tokyo Game Show, game director Naoki Hamaguchi has reportedly revealed an "automatic level-up system", which allows players to focus on the main story content and basically ignore side quests (Genki via Push Square).
This system will apparently appear at a "certain point in the game" and gives you the option to raise your party members' strength to the recommended level, which means you can continue to power through the story and perhaps instead revisit other content after you're done with the main game.
The reason for this decision is supposedly tied to feedback the team received about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, where some players apparently complained about being underpowered for major battles after skipping certain side content and quests. So, if the open-world aspect of Revelation sounds intimidating or you just want to focus on getting to the end of this final chapter, you won't have to worry about playing extra content.
