However, even the five-time champions needed to let go of some talent, which is always a hard call. However, MI have decided to release 9 players and now have a total purse of over Rs 10 crore for their mini auction.

The biggest name released for the Mumbai Indians (MI) was touted to be Will Jacks, who was signed for Rs 5.25 crore. Being a special T20 player but the lack of game time in the packed top order meant he was underutilised last season. He has been retained; however, 9 players have been released. Other released players are Reece Topley, Lizaad Williams and Indian uncapped talent Satyanarayana Raju
