Ace India Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli’s form has been under the scanner for quite some time. Ahead of the crucial India vs Pakistan clash, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar claimed that Kohli needed to settle his mind and focus on his batting. Manjrekar believes that Kohli needs to settle his mind rather than trying too hard to improve his batting.
The excitement and anticipation grow as the two arch-rivals take on each other in the ICC Champions Trophy. Both teams have had contrasting starts to their campaign. While Pakistan lost their opening game, India however dominated Bangladesh. But Virat Kohli was dismissed cheaply after scoring 22 runs.
You are thinking too much
“When you (Kohli) are slightly out of form and runs, you think of practising too much and thinking too much… sometimes (you) just over do it. Just keep hitting the balls in the nets. It’s more of mind thing (and) not (just) about (the) batting technique,” said Sanjay Manjrekar on JioHotstar.
Sanjay Manjrekar claimed that Virat Kohli needs to keep on hitting the balls in the nets. This practice will greatly improve his batting. He further went on to dissect that Kohli has low confidence after his poor string of performances, but is trying very hard to get back into rhythm.
“He is going through a difficult time, and has (had) some technical issues… in the last match he lacked confidence but he is trying his best. He just needs to settle his mind a little bit without trying too hard, and go out there with a relaxed mind,” Manjrekar added.
