The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 will be played across 7 venues in England from June 12 till July 5.

England women’s cricket team have been handed a massive setback just days ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be played from June 12 till July 5 across 7 venues in England. The host team received the heartbreaking news of injury to their skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is set to miss the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand and India.

England Cricket took to X to inform of Nat Sciver’s omission from the upcoming warm-up series while announcing her replacements. “Our captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the India and New Zealand squads as she continues to rehab a sustained calf tear.”

However, an exact timeline of the England all-rounder’s recovery is not known, it comes at a time with the Women’s T20 WC 2026 just a few days away.

It is to be noted that the 33-year-old sustained the injury while playing for The Blaze last month. While she missed the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, the scans have revealed a longer period of rehabilitation, making her participation in the World Cup also doubtful.
