RCB retention list for WPL 2026

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, winners of the 2024 edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), have retained 4 players ahead of the mega auction. After ending their trophy drought in WPL 2024, Smriti Mandhana and co. finished at the 4th place in the recent edition of the tournament. RCB were one of the sides who were against the mega auction, not wanting to disband a squad that they had worked so hard to build.

  1. Retention 1 – Smriti Mandhana (Rs 3.50 crore)
  2. Retention 2 – Richa Ghosh (Rs 2.75 crore)
  3. Retention 3 – Ellyse Perry (Rs 2 crore)
  4. Retention 4 – Shreyanka Patil (Rs 60 lakhs)
  5. RTM – 1
  6. Purse left: Rs 6.15 crore

RCB have retained captain Smriti for the highest amount after she led the team to the maiden trophy in 2024. Other retentions include World Cup winning-member Richa Ghosh apart from Australia’s Perry and Shreyanka Patil. Among the star players that RCB have released include Asha Shobhana, Sophie Devine, Renuka Singh, Sophie Molineux. RCB are left with Rs 6.15 crore in their auction purse and have one Right to Match card that they can exercise.

The WPL Auction is slated to take place on November 27 in Delhi, and the BCCI has informed all the franchises about the same, as per Sportstar. To be precise, the event will be held in a hotel in Aerocity, close to the city’s airport.
