India vs West Indies 2nd Test Day 2 LIVE: WI lose way after Chanderpaul-Athanaze partnership
by Naman Jain · Inside Sport IndiaWelcome to our live coverage of Day 2 of the 2nd India vs West Indies Test from the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
After a dominant opening day, India will resume at 318/2 with Yashasvi Jaiswal unbeaten on a majestic 173 and skipper Shubman Gill looking steady at the other end. It was a day that firmly belonged to the hosts; Jaiswal’s seventh Test ton and Sai Sudharsan’s composed 87 showed India’s batting depth, as the West Indies struggled to maintain pressure despite flashes of brilliance from Jomel Warrican.
The surface, which played true for most of Day 1, is expected to slow down and offer more assistance to the spinners as the match progresses. With India eyeing a total well beyond 500, the morning session will be crucial for both sides. Jaiswal, meanwhile, is looking hungrier to even go past in what could be his third double century.
