India hopes Pakistan will hand over Asia Cup 2025 trophy in ‘day or two’, little bit unhappy

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia stated that he expects the Asia Cup 2025 trophy to be handed over to India within the next couple of days. His remarks come after the Indian cricket team refused to accept the trophy from ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi subsequently which the cup was relocated to another location, with the PCB chairman demanding an active player of the Indian team meet him personally to receive the trophy. As per reports, the BCCI secretary has reiterated that the matter would be raised with the ICC during their AGM if the trophy wasn’t returned before that.
BCCI unhappy over Asia Cup row
As per PTI, BCCI secretary Saikia told the news agency that the board was a little unhappy with that the trophy wasn’t handed over to India yet. He said that while the board had written to the ACC 10 days earlier and that that there was no response yet, they were still hoping that the Asia Cup 2025 trophy reaches them in a day or two.
“Yes, we are a little bit unhappy with the way the trophy has not been given to us even after a month. We are pursuing the matter. About 10 days ago, we also wrote a letter to the chairman of the ACC, but there has been no change in their position. They are still keeping the trophy in their custody, but we hope it will reach us in a day or two at the BCCI office in Mumbai,” the BCCI secretary said.
