Erling Haaland has now signed the longest ever contract deal in Premier League history

Manchester City had signed a mega 9.5-year deal with ace forward Erling Haaland. The Norwegian forward joined the Premier League champions back in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund. In this phase of time, he has already notched up 111 goals from 126 games. And now the striker has signed a new deal that will keep him with the club till 2034.

Haaland’s initial contract ran till 2027. But as per reports, the clauses of his previous deal are now all revoked and he has gone on to sign a highly lucrative deal with Manchester City extending his stay at the club.

Erling Haaland’s previous contract had a release clause in it till 2027. But now that is not the case. As per the new deal, he is now expected to stay at the club till be becomes 34 years of age. As for Manchester City, it is a wonderful way to secure one of their key players and not losing him when another club hits the release clause.

“I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great club,” said Haaland.

“Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody. I also want to thank [manager] Pep [Guardiola], his coaching staff, my team-mates and everyone at the club as they have all helped me so much in the past couple of years,” Haaland added.

Manchester City are truly going the distance. They secured Pep Guardiola on a fresh 2-year deal. However, as for the Haaland deal, it is now a Premier League record. It is now the longest deal offered to any player in the Premier League. Previously, the longest deal was with Cole Palmer who went on to sign a 9 year deal with Chelsea.
