DC retention list for WPL 2026

Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) table-toppers Delhi Capitals have made 5 retentions ahead of the mega auction, with xx topping the charts. Despite finishing at the top of the table with 5 wins from 8 games, DC were handed a 8-run defeat in the final by Mumbai Indians, denying them their maiden trophy. Along with RCB and MI, DC was the third side that reportedly was against the mega auction as it would force the team to build their squad from the scratch again.

- Retention 1 -Jemimah Rodrigues (Rs 2.22 crore)
- Retention 2 – Shafali Verma (Rs 2.22 cr)
- Retention 3 – Annabel Sutherland (Rs 2.22 cr)
- Retention 4 – Marizanne Kapp (Rs 2.22 cr
- Retention 5 – Niki Prasad (Uncapped) (Rs 50 lakh)
- RTM – 0
- Purse left: Rs 5.70 crore
DC have decided to retain four capped players for Rs 2.22 crore while they have retained an uncapped Niki Prasad for Rs 50 lakhs. They have no RTMs left heading into the WPL 2026 mega auction.
World Cup winners Jemimah and Shafali are a part of their retentions while the overseas players include the formidable Kapp and Sutherland. Mwanwhile, the team has released the likes of Lanning, Arundhati, Shikha, Radha among other capped international stars before the next edition of the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Parth Jindal, Co-owner of Delhi Capitals and Founder of JSW Sports, said, “Letting go of players from such a consistent, high-performing squad is never easy, but that’s the challenge that comes with a mega auction. Every player has played a pivotal role in our journey so far. Although we narrowly missed lifting the trophy, we’re immensely proud of what this group has achieved in the first three seasons.”

The WPL Auction is slated to take place on November 27 in Delhi, and the BCCI has informed all the franchises about the same, as per Sportstar. To be precise, the event will be held in a hotel in Aerocity, close to the city’s airport.
