Suryakumar Yadav is set to lead the Mumbai Indians in their opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The usual captain, Hardik Pandya, will miss this match because he has a one-match ban. Hardik Pandya and coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed it on Wednesday.

Mumbai Indians will kick off their season against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23. Suryakumar Yadav will take charge and lead the five-time champions in this exciting clash against the Super Kings on their home ground.
