Major controversy erupts in IPL, CAB says no to Harsha Bhogle & Simon Doull at Eden Gardens
by Madhav Agarwal · Inside Sport IndiaIPL 2025: It seems that the CAB is unhappy about Simon Doull and Harsha Bhogle's criticism of the Eden Gardens curator.
And just before the start of another KKR game at home, another controversy has erupted. First, it was the back and forth between skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Eden Gardens curator Sujan Mukherjee, and now it is between the Cricket Association of Bengal and the broadcasting duo of Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull.
Another Controversy Related to Eden Gardens Curator
As per a report in RevSportz, the CAB has written a letter to the BCCI, urging them not to allow Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull continue with their broadcasting duties in any of the matches in Eden Gardens. The move has come after the duo had criticised the Eden Garden chief curator. Doull had even gone on to the extent of saying that, KKR should consider changing base from Kolkata.
But then the CAB is clear that the curator has done no wrong, and has prepared the pitches according to the BCCI rule book. In short, any IPL franchise cannot have a say on the nature of the wicket. The report also says that there has been no formal reply from the BCCI, but Harsha and Doull won’t commentate in the KKR vs GT match on Monday.
NO Simon Doull & Harsha Bhogle in Kolkata
