Laura Woods: TV Presenter Collapses While Presenting Ghana vs England Coverage

Laura Woods appeared to collapse during ITV’s coverage of the women’s international friendly between the Black Queens of Ghana and England on Tuesday evening.
Woods had been presenting the broadcast alongside Ian Wright and former Lionesses defender Anita Asante.

But she suddenly appeared to faint during the broadcast, tipping forward toward the ground as Ian Wright instinctively reached out to catch her, per Daily Mail.
Seconds earlier, the ITV cameras had been trained on the Arsenal legend before shifting away from the desk, and the broadcast moved into an advert break.

When coverage returned, Woods was absent, with presenter Katie Shanahan stepping in to take over for the remainder of the programme.

Shananan, who was initially due to be ITV's pitchside reporter for the game, stated that Woods had been 'taken ill' after the incident but was 'in very good hands'.
She explained:
"As you have probably noticed, we don't have the wonderful Laura Woods because she's just been taken ill, but she's in very good hands, so I'm stepping in at late notice."
ITV are yet to officially comment on the incident, which was also telecast live on Ghana television.
Meanwhile, shortly afterwards, Woods’ fiancé and father of her child, took to social media to reassure fans about her condition.
Posting on X, the former Love Island star wrote:
"Laura is all ok and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages."
Fans on social media were quick to express their well-wishes after the incident.
'Hope Laura Woods is ok!' One wrote.
Another said:
'Upsetting to see Laura Woods faint. Glad Ian Wright caught her. Speedy recovery.'
A third added:
'Hope Laura Woods is alright. Get well soon!'

Woods is a familiar face on ITV and TNT Sports, where she also fronts coverage of the men’s Champions League.
In January, she welcomed a baby boy, Leo, with Collard and briefly stepped away from broadcasting before making her return in April.
Collard, known for his headline-making appearances on Love Island and later Celebrity SAS, and Woods made their relationship public in October 2023, via Metro Sports.
The couple became engaged in September 2024 after Collard proposed during a beachside moment in St Ives, Cornwall.
England beat Black Queens
YEN.com.gh reported that the Black Queens slipped to a 2-0 defeat against the Lionesses in a much-anticipated encounter at St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Lucia Kendall opened the scoring early, and Alessia Russo added a second in second-half stoppage time to hand England a well-earned victory.
