Arsenal may have fallen short in the Champions League final, but they still achieved a remarkable financial milestone by setting a new prize money record for a British club in the competition.

Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhães both missed from the spot as PSG successfully retained their European crown.

However, PSG equalised on 65 minutes after Cristian Mosquera fouled Khvicha Kvaratskhelia inside the box, allowing Ousmane Dembélé to convert from the penalty spot.
It was not the ending Arsenal had hoped for after winning the Premier League title, but Mikel Arteta’s side once again demonstrated their resilience with a determined performance at the Puskás Arena.
Both teams created opportunities to win the match, while Arsenal also felt they should have been awarded a penalty in the first half of extra time after a challenge from Nuno Mendes on Noni Madueke. However, referee Daniel Siebert dismissed the appeals.
Despite the defeat, Arsenal completed the entire 2025/26 Champions League campaign without losing a match in normal time.
That impressive run has translated into a huge financial reward.
According to projections compiled by The Athletic, Arsenal are expected to earn €143 million (approximately £125 million) in Champions League prize money.
That figure would represent the highest amount ever earned by a British club in the competition’s history.
Only PSG are expected to earn more, with the French champions projected to collect around £127 million after receiving an additional £5.7 million for winning the final and securing a second consecutive Champions League title.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are projected to have earned the fourth-highest prize money total despite being eliminated by PSG in the quarter-finals, bringing in an estimated £95.3 million.
That amount exceeds the projected earnings of semi-finalists Atlético Madrid (£90.7 million) and Real Madrid (£90.1 million).
At the opposite end of the scale, Champions League debutants FC Kairat Almaty are projected to have earned £16.7 million from their campaign.
The final figures remain estimates and will not be officially confirmed until UEFA releases its financial distribution report later in 2026.
