Rain, rain don’t go away.

Stormy skies may have cast over the City of Light for much of Paris Fashion Week, but fear not, even water-soaked cobblestone couldn’t dampen the fashion mood.

In fact, street-stylers made their own sunshine in colorful, eclectic get-ups, which promoted freedom and self-expression over a single brand image (abiding by full-look policy is mostly for the influencer-set, anyway).

It wasn’t all rainbows though, black carried over from Milan as a major trend and, unsurprisingly given the weather conditions, trenchcoats and fuzzy textures were also out in full force. For those who wished not to miss out on peacocking for cameras by covering up, umbrellas were the must-have accessory.

Boudoir

There’s nothing fashionistas love more than jumping on a trend early and those in Paris got a head start on inner wear-as-outerwear by donning bra tops, lace details and sheer layers that showed-off dainty straps and, in this case, a baby bump.

Trenchcoats

A trans-seasonal staple, trenchcoats were the outerwear of choice for staying dry while zipping between show venues at PFW. Many donned them in khaki or olive, but kudos to this showgoer for straying away from the crowd in a vinyl version.

Fuzzy Textures

Another way the Paris-set braved the weather was with plush accents, be them real or faux. Shearling was popular as a trimming on jacket collars, and aside from being ultra-glamorous, fur hats and skirts also helped to keep warm.

Head-to-toe Black

Even neutrals can be trendy. Although much has been said about the emergence of brown lately, in the French capital, black resolidified itself as the fashion crowd’s favorite. From goths to punks to ladies alike, everyone had their take.
