US President Donald Trump has met with Syria's interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Riyadh, the first such encounter between the two countries' leaders in a quarter of a century

The US president's trip, which will also take him to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, is his first to the Middle East since returning to the White House.
