Police launch probe after man dies after he was found injured on Lanarkshire street

Police have launched a probe after a man died after he was found seriously injured on a Lanarkshire street.

Cops were called to General Gate in Uddingston at around 7.35pm on Sunday, October 6.

The 38-year-old man was found seriously injured. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, however was pronounced dead on arrival.

The street and surrounding roads were locked down whilst officers investigated. Locals reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.35pm on Sunday, 6 October 2024, police were called to General's Gate, Uddingston, where a 38-year-old man was found seriously injured.

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but was pronounced dead on arrival. Officers remain at the scene as the investigation into his death continues."
