‘Stranger Things 5’ Teaser Trailer – The Hawkins Kids Fight Demogorgons (and Vecna) One More Time

by · Bloody Disgusting

One. Last. Adventure. The gang is back one last time for the FINAL season of “Stranger Things” later this year, and a new teaser trailer for “Stranger Things 5” has arrived this morning.

They’re calling it a “teaser” but it’s pretty much a full-on trailer, previewing an epic war that will pit all of our favorite characters up against the threats of the past. Demogorgons are leaping all over the place in this thing, but today’s new trailer makes it clear that the main villain of the show’s final season is undoubtedly the Freddy Krueger-inspired monster known as Vecna.

Watch the official teaser trailer for “Stranger Things 5” below!

The first four episodes will premiere November 26, the next three episodes on December 25, and the series finale on December 31. Each volume releases globally at 5pm PT/8pm ET.

In the final season, “The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.

“As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”

The cast includes Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay).

Series creators The Duffer Brothers promise an epic final season ahead.

“We spent a full year filming this season. By the end, we had captured over 650 hours of footage,” Ross Duffer said previously. “So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It’s like eight blockbuster movies. It’s pretty, pretty insane.”

“Season 5 will be big and epic,“ Matt Duffer added, echoing Ross’s promise for the final season. “There’s no time for a ramp-up. It’s going to be intense from beginning to end.”
