Three children and one adult were killed in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Oct. 15, a law enforcement source told USA TODAY.
The shooter, a 16-year-old who used a shotgun, was killed by a bystander who was legally carrying a concealed weapon and followed the shooter, the law enforcement source said.
Another child and another adult victim were taken to the hospital to receive life-saving measures, and their conditions are touch-and-go, the source said.
USA TODAY has reached out the Bend Police Department. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office wouldn't confirm details about the shooter and the number of children shot.
