What are we all playing this weekend?
Well? Do tell!
· Rock Paper ShotgunThe descent into autumn continues: this week I slept with an extra blanket on the bed. I'm not into swapping the duvet out for the winter tog yet, I'll be holding off on that until at least December, but the laying of the first blanket is a true marker of autumn's arrival.
Another change I was telling the team about to definitely rapt fascination was that I've brought the dehumidifier out to reduce condensation in the living room when drying washing. Not only that, I'm combining it with the fan I bought in summer to keep the air circulating. Reader, I don't mean to boast, but it dried two loads of washing including heavy ply towels overnight.
But enough about my successes, this is what the rest of the team are up to.

This weekend I'll be checking out the demo for Ablahshikar, a turn-based ship-salvaging game with ASCII art and some extremely extra writing. As the developers put it: "Thy wrists y-braced to a wan terminal of bone-whyte and tarnysshed latoun, þou steerest Ablahshikar by murke point-nettes and sputteryng tables." Ta to former RPS scribe and current Steam Hype editor Dominic Tarason for passing it on.

I've got another mystery game I'm slowly chipping away at. When I'm not on with that I might finally get around to checking out The Witcher 3's new coat of paint. I just need to double check I've not got any residue left over from a previous modded installation where I'd turned Gerry into a man-torsoed and horse-legged centaur, since that might cause the new version of the all-timer RPG to get a bit confused. I'm also due a return to Star Wars: Galactic Racer for a proper taste of its multiplayer now the podracing gates have opened to everyone.
Ollie
This weekend I'll be away from my... well, not my PC, because that's still borked. But my PC setup. Which is an important distinction, because for the time being I've been plugging my two monitors and all my peripherals into my laptop and playing on there, to varying degrees of success. But this weekend I'm travelling, so I've packed up said laptop - and also brought along my Steam Deck, my Steam Frame, and my Steam Controller. No, I'm not sponsored. I just don't know what I want to play or how I want to play it.
James
Wait, Ollie has a Steam Frame? At last, a second person I know who does. On a related note, there's a Titanfall 2 VR mod I've been meaning to try, and am finally free enough from review duties to make the time for it.
Jeremy
I'm playing an upcoming game that involves exploring a very large area, attacking things, and occasionally eating big pieces of chicken. You commentators who have been following my WAPs recently will figure it out.
Callum
Upon learning it was his one year anniversary at RPS, Callum announced he was departing for the sewers to "make good on the pact". We wish him good luck.
Julian
No doubt I will be hanging up more washing and testing this fan/dehumidifier system to check it wasn't just a fluke. But, if that doesn't take up all my time, I will also be playing some Dorfromantik. I've had my eye on it for a while but after talking to the Volatiles devs about it's tile placing mechanic I was convinced to finally buy it.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend…?
