Mexico's government is studying the possible effects of a 10-percent general tariff announced Friday by US President Donald Trump, Mexican Economic Minister Marcelo Ebrard said.

Germany's BGA wholesale and foreign trade association on Friday called for a NATO-like trade alliance, warning that uncertainty for German business remains despite a US Supreme Court ruling against President Donald Trump's global tariffs.

The EU said Friday that it was studying the US Supreme Court ruling that found President Donald Trump exceeded his authority in imposing a swath of tariffs that upended global trade.
"We take note of the ruling ... and are analysing it carefully," EU trade spokesman Olof Gill said.
