In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Morlu said that while maintaining peace is a collective national responsibility, the constitutional duty to ensure law and order rests with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

According to the statement, STAND has received what Morlu described as credible information suggesting that individuals sympathetic to the current administration may be infiltrating protest activities in an effort to instigate unrest and discredit the demonstrations.

Morlu called on international partners and members of the diplomatic community to urgently engage the Liberian government and caution against any actions that could undermine public order and democratic expression.

He warned that any escalation of violence would be the responsibility of the government.

Reaffirming STAND’s position, the statement emphasized the group’s commitment to nonviolence, noting that its members remain peaceful, disciplined, and resolute as they continue to exercise their constitutional rights.
