‘I’m gonna punch you in your f---ing face’: Dramatic feud between Trump officials revealed
· Yahoo NewsTreasury Secretary Scott Bessent threatened to “beat” Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte for smearing him to President Donald Trump, according to a new report.
POLITICO reported on the confrontation on Monday, which occurred at a private dinner with dozens of administration officials at the Executive Branch, an exclusive club in Georgetown, and a birthday party for Chamath Palihapitiya, the host of the “All-In” podcast.
Amid the cocktail hour celebration, Bessent engaged in a profanity-laced tirade against Pulte, according to POLITICO. The secretary had heard that he was being badmouthed to Trump, a person close to Bessent said.

“Why the f--- are you talking to the president about me? F--- you,” Bessent told Pulte, the outlet revealed. “I’m gonna punch you in your f---ing face.”
Bessent went on to tell club co-owner and megadonor Omeed Malik, “It’s either me or him. You tell me who’s getting the f--- out of here,” an eyewitness said.
Bessent then added, “We could go outside,” to which Pulte asked, “To talk?”
“No,” Bessent fired back.
“I’m going to f---ing beat your a--,” he continued.
Malik separated the two officials, POLITICO reported, in an effort to deescalate tensions. They remained on opposite ends of the table during a seated dinner as the party continued.

The eyewitness and four people familiar with the matter only disagreed on was whether Bessent or Pulte initiated the conversation. It comes as Trump announced in May that Bessent and Pulte, along with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, would work together on a plan to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which are government-sponsored enterprises aimed at providing stability and affordability to the mortgage market.
As Pulte has taken the lead in recent weeks, he and Bessent have sparred over the initiative, in addition to other economic matters, according to four Trump insiders that spoke to POLITICO.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, Medicare and Medicaid chief Mehmet Oz, among others, were in attendance at the event.
The clash follows a report from The Atlantic in May, in which Bessent lashed out at tech billionaire Elon Musk, who formerly oversaw the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, over a dispute over who should pick the new head of the IRS.
