Nothing Phone 3a: Nothing has once again shaken up the affordable smartphone market with the launch of its latest handsets — the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro — at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. The new lineup brings a fresh take on design and functionality, introducing an advanced triple-camera setup, a telephoto zoom lens, and AI-powered enhancements while retaining the brand’s signature transparent aesthetic.

Nothing Phone 3a Series: Price & Availability

One of the biggest highlights of the Nothing Phone 3a series is its pricing, making flagship-grade features more accessible. The Phone 3a starts at just Rs 22,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, available exclusively in India.

Meanwhile, the Nothine Phone 3a Pro model, with an Indian-exclusive 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option, is priced at Rs 27,999.

Design and Durability: Transparent Aesthetic With an Upgrade

The Nothing Phone 3a comes with a transparent back featuring the recognisable Glyph Interface, a design choice that has become synonymous with the brand. It houses a pill-shaped triple-camera module and now boasts an IP64 rating for better protection against dust and splashes.

Meanwhile, the Pro variant takes a different route, featuring a striking circular camera island that accommodates a periscope zoom lens for improved optical zoom capabilities.

Camera Capabilities: First Periscope Lens on a Nothing Phone

Both devices showcase notable camera improvements. The Phone 3a incorporates a 50MP telephoto lens capable of 2x optical zoom and 4x in-sensor lossless zoom. In contrast, the Phone 3a Pro elevates its camera system with a 50MP periscope zoom lens offering 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom.

A 50MP primary wide-angle sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens complete the rear camera setup. Selfie enthusiasts will appreciate the 32MP front shooter on the Phone 3a, while the Pro model steps up with a 50MP front-facing camera. Both support 4K video recording at 30fps, ensuring high-quality footage from any angle.

Performance and Software: AI-Driven Features On Android 15

Performance-wise, the smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a minimum of 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. They run on Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15, with a promise of three major OS upgrades.

A 5,000mAh battery with 50W fast charging keeps both devices running, though users will need to purchase the charger separately.

AI-Powered Productivity: Essential Space Debuts

A standout addition to this generation is Essential Space, an AI-driven feature designed to help users efficiently capture and organize information through notes, screenshots, and images.

This functionality is accessible via a dedicated physical key and is currently in early access, with Phone 3a users being the first to explore its capabilities.

First Nothing Phones With eSIM Support

Nothing has also introduced eSIM support for the first time in this series, adding to the smartphones’ versatility. With these latest offerings, Nothing continues its push to blend aesthetics, innovation, and user-centric AI, setting the stage for a competitive smartphone experience in 2025.
