The death toll in the firecracker warehouse blast in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi has risen to 11, with four injured people currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Kaushambi Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan Prajapat confirmed the deaths in an exclusive conversation with ABP News.

A case has been registered against six named accused, including warehouse owner Adil. Authorities have also announced that bulldozers will be used to demolish the accused’s warehouses as part of the action following the blast.

The powerful explosion reduced more than half a dozen houses in the surrounding area to rubble.

The administration has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 each for the injured.

Heavy Police Force Deployed At Spot

A large police force, including Circle Officer Shivang Singh, is present at the spot, while the district administration is carrying out rescue operations.

Kaushambi District Magistrate Amit Pal Sharma said four fire brigade vehicles, along with ambulances, were sent to the site and rescue operations are underway. Around five people have been rescued so far, with some sent for treatment and provided emergency care. The condition of those seriously injured is being assessed.

Around Three Houses Reportedly Caught Fire

According to DM Amit Pal Sharma, the police and administrative teams responded immediately after receiving information about the incident, and teams from both districts were deployed. Based on the initial investigation, around three houses appear to have caught fire.
