A bomb blast rocked Pakistan's Balochistan province on Friday, injuring 10 people, including a security officer. The blast, appeared to have been triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED) through remote control, comes just days after at least 10 people were killed and several others were injured in a bomb attack on a vehicle carrying labourers in Balochistan.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anwar Ali of Gwalamandi told news agency PTI that the explosion occurred near the convoy of the paramilitary Frontier Corps in Quetta.
"Preliminary investigations indicate that the IED contained around two to three kilograms of explosives," Ali said.
Five shops and a vehicle belonging to the paramilitary force were damaged in the explosion on Jaan Muhammad Road.
In another separate incident, a suicide bombing at the Darul Uloom Haqqania madrasain in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killed six people, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami Group) leader Maulana Hameed-ul-Haq Haqqani. Several people, including three police officers, were injured in the blast.
