Lionel Messi First Goal Of 2025: Lionel Messi manages to score a goal for 21st consecutive year, as the Inter Miami captain thumped in a header inside the 6-yard-box off Luis Suarez's cross to equalise against Club America in a club friendly.

From scoring his first professional goal on May 1, 2005 against Albacete, assisted by Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi has stamped his authority to being arguably the 'Greatest Player of All Time'.

His equaliser helped Inter Miami level the socring in the first-half, after going down 1-0 in the 31st minute via a goal from Henry Martin.

However, things turned rough for Inter Miami, as Club America made it 2-1 8 minutes into 2nd half, and it looked like Game-Set-Match for the latter, until Tomas Aviles rose high in the air and scored a beautiful header off the corner in the dying seconds of the game to force penalties.

Club America endured a disastrous penalty shootout, as Richard Sanchez and Ramon Juarez ended up missing their penalties, thereby, handing advantage to Inter Miami.

A 17-year-old Santiago Morales stepped up to take the decisive penalty, with his dad (Javier Morales) watching from the sidelines (as assistant coach of Inter Miami).

The teenages did not disappoint, as he scored a cheeky penalty into the bottom-left corner to win the game for his side.
