Two of the best Heavyweight boxers of the last decade, Tyson Fury and Oleksandar Usyk, will put throw down a second time when they go to war tonight (Sat., Dec. 21, 2024) LIVE on DAZN-streamed pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
It’s been six months since the first fight, a back-and-forth affair that saw Usyk drop Fury in the later rounds and pull ahead to score a close decision nod. Since then, the stakes have only risen, as the money circulating this Heavyweight title clash is absolutely massive. Fury has bulked up even further and will hold a nearly 60 pound advantage over his opponent ... which could backfire if he’s not careful! Technically, this fight is no longer for the undisputed crown, but it remains the absolute biggest fight to make in boxing, a must-watch event likely to redefine legacies.

Round One
Fury dwarfs his foe. He eats a quick jab but lands a body shot counter. Compared to the first fight, Fury is standing his ground more and snapping the jab well. Usyk continues to chase the outside angle and takes his power hand to the torso. Usyk pressures into a nice combination that scores well. Fury is looking for a looping right hand around the guard. Competitive opening round.

Fury is doing good work with his lead hand, but Usyk is very accurate with his left hand to the body in response. Usyk takes a left upstairs that knifes inside an attempted Fury left hook. Triple jab from Fury. Fury takes an uppercut to the body and then flashes more jab. 1-2 from Fury wobbles the knees a touch! Another close round.

Usyk’s body jab continues to land with consistency. Fury clubs his opponent upstairs with a left hook, which seems a significant part of his strategy. Sneaky uppercut to the body from Fury. Usyk slides a left hand through the guard and connects to the chin. The two trade jabs. Fury lands a nice combination at about the 10 second clapper, which may be enough to sway the round? All three rounds have been quite debatable so far.

Fury connects early with an uppercut and cross. Usyk fires a left to the chest, then Fury weighs on his head with a posted arm. Fury goes Southpaw and takes a clean left hand. Hard right hand sneaks through the guard for Fury. He feels the connection and pressures with volume for a moment. Stiff jab from the Englishman concludes a solid round for him.

Usyk starts the fifth with a big swing. Fury clinches up twice and leans on him a bit. Usyk throwing punches with a heightened sense of urgency, but Fury blocking well early. Heavy lead hand uppercut pauses Usyk in place! Fury pushing into close quarters more often and trying to get physical. Usyk goes downstairs with consecutive hooks. Accurate straight shots from the larger man. He rips an uppercut to the body. High guard and closer range is working well for Fury, but Usyk scores a quick combo of light punches. Nice double left partially scores for Usyk. Fun round.

Snapping jabs for Fury begin the sixth round. Usyk times a left hand and right hook well. He returns to the body jab after some up-and-down movement. The Ukranian puts together a four-punch combo. Fury goes Southpaw and rips an uppercut. Heavy left hand from Usyk wobbles Fury for a moment! He smashes home a 1-2. Great round for Usyk. Halfway through, the scorecards could be anywhere!

Round Seven
Fury goes back on the front foot and works the jab. Usyk touches the mid-section in response. He’s so accurate when attacking the body. Lovely 1-2 from Fury splits the guard. Usyk whiffs on a serious left hand swing then finds his target with a straighter shot. Fury slips a punch and lands a short combo in close to finish the round.

Round Eight
Both men firing quick shots to start the eighth. Fury tries to clinch and is shoved off. A clash of heads pauses the action for a moment. Usyk rips the boyd with a hook from close quarters. Wide left hand upstairs for Usyk connects. The Ukrainian appears to have really found his range, and Fury is a little baffled. Fury switches up his approach and starts marching Usyk down for a moment of success. Lovely 3-2 combo lands for Usyk. All the momentum is in Usyk’s corner heading into the final third of the fight.

Round Nine
Fury standing his ground a bit more and setting traps. He digs an uppercut into the torso then latches on a clinch. Fury goes back to the body. Body jab for Usyk backs Fury to the ropes. Uppercut and clinch is the new Fury strategy. 1-2. Another right. One more. Usyk lands a nice body-head combination. Usyk finds a couple shots upstairs to close the round strong. Enough to win it back?

Round Ten
Big step-in uppercut connects for Fury. Fury really doing the better work when he’s able to march forward, but Usyk’s body work and left hand give him pause. Fury’s uppercut is doing good work, making an impact even when Usyk covers up. Fury walks into a hard left. More clinch time. Fury sneaks a left in close quarters, eats a jab. For the first time, it looks like Fury is wearing on his foe a touch. Usyk tags the body with a 1-2. Snappy jab and uppercut connection from Fury.

Round Eleven
Glancing blows from both until Usyk lands a nice left. He uses body punches to deny a clinch attempt. A nice combo for Usyk lands, he’s doing the better work halfway through the round. Hard couple punches connect from Usyk when Fury attacks the body. Southpaw jabs for Fury. Heavy combo for Usyk punctuated by a snapping left. Excellent round for the Ukrainian champion. Fury times one solid uppercut before the bell.

Round Twelve
Fury marches forward with a heavy uppercut to the body. Usyk moves on the outside and firing jabs. Both land in a wild exchange. Fury’s pressure opens up some connections with the left hook and body uppercut. Usyk stands his ground with a 1-2. Fury returns the favor! Clubbing shots score for both men, but a crisp Usyk left hand is the cleanest blow of the exchange. Incredible round. Fury double jabs into an uppercut then leaning clinch. Both men believe they’ve won.
