Technology Our Greatest Future Asset: Admiral Tripathi At NDA Passing Out Parade
by Northlines · NorthlinesPune: Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Sunday declared that rapidly evolving technology is “changing the speed of thoughts” and will remain “our greatest asset in the future,” as he addressed the Passing Out Parade of the 149th course of the National Defence Academy (NDA) at the Khetrapal Parade Ground in Pune.
A total of 328 cadets graduated during Saturday’s convocation, emerging as future officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Of them, 216 received Bachelor’s degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University — including 72 in Science, 92 in Computer Science, and 52 in Arts — while 18 cadets from friendly foreign nations were also awarded degrees.
Another 112 Navy and Air Force cadets completed the three-year BTech course and will receive their final degrees upon finishing an additional year of training at their respective pre-commissioning academies in Ezhimala and Hyderabad.
As chief guest at Sunday’s parade, Admiral Tripathi praised the outgoing cadets as disciplined, determined, and ready to defend India and partner nations. He reiterated that technology will define the future of warfare and national security, echoing the Prime Minister’s view that “the path of peace also goes through power.”
He said the parade reflects the NDA’s high standards and the culmination of three years of rigorous training that “forged warriors and capable leaders.” Highlighting the presence of the second batch of women cadets, he said they now stand “shoulder to shoulder” with their male counterparts, urging all graduates to focus on duty over recognition. The first batch of female cadets passed out in May this year, following the 2021 UPSC decision enabled by a Supreme Court order allowing women into the NDA. (Agencies)
