New Delhi, Aug 16: The National Testing Agency (NTA)  announced a re-test for three papers of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination following complaints regarding errors in the question papers.

The English paper will be re-conducted on September 9 from 9 am to 12 noon in Shift 1, while the Commerce paper will be held the same day from 3 pm to 6 pm in Shift 2. The Sociology paper will be conducted on September 10 from 9 am to 12 noon in Shift 1, the NTA said.

The agency had constituted a committee to examine the complaints and look into the errors reported in the three papers. The committee recommended re-conducting the papers in the interest of ensuring a fair and error-free examination.

The UGC-NET June 2026 examination was conducted by the NTA from June 22 to 30 across 87 subjects. The examination is held for determining eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as assistant professors and admission to PhD programmes.

The re-test decision comes after the committee reviewed the issues raised concerning the English, Commerce and Sociology papers and recommended fresh examinations for the affected candidates. (Agencies)
