Jammu, April 11:  One terrorist was killed in a joint operation carried out by Indian security forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Chhatru forest area of Kishtwar district, officials confirmed on Friday.

The operation, which began on April 9, was launched based on specific intelligence inputs. According to the White Knight Corps, contact with the terrorists was established late in the evening, leading to a firefight. One terrorist was neutralised during the exchange.

“Despite hostile terrain and adverse weather, relentless operations by our brave soldiers continue,” the White Knight Corps posted on X (formerly Twitter), praising the coordinated efforts of the forces involved.

Security forces have intensified anti-terror operations in the region in recent months, focusing on forested and remote areas where militants are suspected to be hiding. The identity and affiliation of the killed terrorist have not yet been confirmed.

Authorities said the operation is ongoing and further details will be shared as they become available.
