ISI-Backed Multi-State Arms Network Busted; Elite-Grade Foreign Weapons Recovered

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Saturday busted a major ISI-backed arms racket operating across multiple states, arresting four alleged members of the network and seizing a large cache of foreign-made weapons and ammunition.

The breakthrough comes amid an ongoing crackdown on a Pakistan-sponsored Jaish “doctor terror” module behind the Delhi Red Fort car blast, which killed 13 people and injured more than 30.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a team led by DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav intercepted the network, which had been using drones to smuggle weapons from Pakistan into India — a tactic increasingly used in cross-border trafficking.

Special CP (Crime) Devesh Srivastava said the haul included 10 high-end foreign-made semi-automatic pistols and 92 live cartridges. Among the seized weapons was a Turkiye-manufactured PX-5.7 pistol, typically used by elite military forces, indicating the scale of the network. China-made PX-3 pistols were also recovered.

Police believe the operatives had direct support from Pakistan’s ISI and were part of a wider supply chain.

Joint CP Surendra Kumar said the arrests and seizures are expected to yield crucial leads on the network’s operations, its linkages, and the intended recipients of the weapons.
