Former Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain Among Six Arrested in DJB Case
by Northlines · NorthlinesNEW DELHI, AUGUST 18: Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain and former Delhi Jal Board CEO Udit Prakash Rai, an IAS officer, are among six persons arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in an alleged corruption case linked to the tendering of sewage treatment plant projects, officials said on Tuesday.
The other arrested accused have been identified as former DJB contractual consultant Ankit Srivastava and private persons Nagendra Yadav, Raja Kumar Kurra and Pankaj Verma, according to an ACB statement.
The case was registered on May 11, 2024, following a complaint by the Directorate of Vigilance.
The ACB is investigating alleged large-scale irregularities, manipulation of tender conditions and criminal conspiracy in the tendering process for the augmentation and upgradation of sewage treatment plants of the Delhi Jal Board.
The arrests are part of the agency’s investigation into the alleged irregularities in the award and processing of the STP-related contracts.
