J&K: Civilian dies in fire incident at Badamibagh Army Cantonment

Srinagar, Jan 18: A non-local civilian died following a fire incident inside the Badamibagh Army cantonment on Saturday, officials said.

The fire erupted in a civil canteen within the cantonment, causing significant damage to the structure. Rajesh Kumar, a civil contractor from Haryana, sustained burn injuries in the blaze. He was immediately rushed to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital, where he was declared dead, the officials added.

The fire has since been brought under control, they confirmed. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
