Mann Ki Baat: PM Urges Industry, Start-ups to Make Quality Hallmark of Indian Products
by Northlines · NorthlinesNew Delhi, Jan 25: Prime Minister **Narendra Modi** on Sunday called upon industry and start-ups to focus on **quality-driven manufacturing** and make excellence the benchmark of Indian products, urging them to adopt a “zero defect” approach.
Addressing the nation in his **130th episode of Mann Ki Baat**, the Prime Minister said Indian products should become globally recognised for top quality. “Let us resolve to improve the quality of whatever we manufacture. Be it textiles, technology, electronics or even packaging, an Indian product should become synonymous with top quality,” Modi said.
Highlighting India’s start-up journey, Modi lauded the enthusiasm and innovation shown by young entrepreneurs over the past decade. He said India has emerged as the **third-largest start-up ecosystem in the world** since the movement began in 2016.
“These start-ups are thinking out of the box and are working in sectors that were unimaginable even 10 years ago,” the Prime Minister said, noting their presence across diverse fields such as **artificial intelligence, space, nuclear energy, semiconductors, mobility, green hydrogen and biotechnology**.
Praising the contribution of young innovators, Modi said Indian start-ups are active across nearly every emerging sector. “You name it and you will find an Indian start-up working in that area,” he said, saluting youth associated with start-ups or aspiring to launch their own ventures.
During the broadcast, the Prime Minister also extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of **National Voters’ Day** and **Republic Day**.
