SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Apr 22: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday paid heartfelt tributes to victims of the Pahalgam terror attack on its first anniversary, reaffirming a united stand against terrorism.

Union Minister also remembered the 26 victims — including 25 tourists and a local ponywallah — who were killed by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists at Baisaran meadows on April 22 last year.

Sinha asserted the attack would neither be forgotten nor forgiven, pledging unwavering commitment to eliminate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He paid homage to the victims, saying their memory remains etched in the nation’s heart and extended prayers for their families.

Chief Minister Abdullah said the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to stand united against violence and remain determined to end the cycle of suffering and innocent deaths. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring such tragedies do not recur and expressed solidarity with the affected families.

Calling the tragedy deeply personal, Union Minister said his connection with Jammu and Kashmir made the pain of the attack especially profound. He added that while the nation endured immense grief, it also demonstrated resilience and courage, reiterating that India will never bow before terrorism and such acts of violence will never succeed.
