VOTING is well under way as Islanders select the politicians they hope will lead the Island through the next four years.
Voters have until 8pm to cast their ballots for nine Senators, 12 Constables and 28 Deputies, who together will form the next States Assembly.
This year, the Island has moved to automatic voter registration, which means voting constituencies are based on existing information held by the government. A central ‘data team’ has been set up to help people verify their voter status.
The election comes after weeks of campaigning, hustings, manifesto launches and doorstep conversations, with candidates seeking support on issues ranging from housing and the cost of living to healthcare, education and the economy.
Once voting closes this evening, attention will quickly turn to the count.
The Jersey Evening Post will be providing comprehensive live coverage throughout election night, bringing readers the results as they happen, alongside reaction, analysis and the key moments as the shape of the next Assembly emerges.
Our live blog will track every declaration, every surprise result and the developments that could influence the race to become Jersey’s next Chief Minister.
Readers can follow all the action via the JEP app (Apple and Android versions), with notifications available throughout the evening as results come in.
For subscribers, tomorrow’s print and digital edition will go beyond the headlines, featuring in-depth analysis, colour from the count centres, interviews, behind-the-scenes reporting and expert assessment of what the results mean for Jersey’s future.
Whether you’re interested in who won, why they won, and what happens next, the JEP will be with you every step of the way.
