Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku on Monday visited the maternity ward of Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Accra together with members of the Black Stars technical team as part of efforts to engage the public ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Okraku, the delegation spent time interacting with new mothers and their babies in a gesture meant to share in their joy and connect with the wider community.

“We spent quality time with new mothers and their newborn babies,” he said, describing the visit as part of activities to build national support for the senior national team.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was present alongside assistant coaches Desmond Ofei, Alain Ravera and Kim Lars Bjorkegren, as well as technical advisor Winfried Schafer.

The outreach forms part of a broader campaign to rally Ghanaians behind the team as preparations intensify for the World Cup in North America, where Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in the group stage.

Team officials believe such engagements will strengthen the bond between the national side and supporters before the tournament begins.
