Losing to All Blacks in our final game was very bad – Kotoko coach Hamza Obeng laments
· GhanaSoccernetInterim Asante Kotoko head coach Hamza Obeng has admitted his disappointment following the club’s defeat to Swedru All Blacks in their final Ghana Premier League match of the season.
The Porcupine Warriors welcomed All Blacks to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, hoping to end a challenging campaign on a positive note.
Despite playing in front of their supporters, Kotoko fell to a 2-1 defeat after a disappointing performance over the 90 minutes.
Speaking after the game, Obeng described the result as painful, especially because the team had wanted to give the fans something to celebrate in the final fixture of the season.
“What I will say is that the result is very bad. I think at least we should have gotten the result to make our fans happy. But all the same, it’s part of the game, so we move from there and concentrate on the next season,” Obeng said.
Following the defeat, Asante Kotoko ended the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign in eighth position.
The Reds collected 49 points from 34 league matches in what proved to be a difficult and inconsistent season for the club.
Attention will now turn to preparations for next season as Kotoko look to rebuild and challenge strongly in the upcoming campaign.
