South Korean Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Park Kyongsig, has expressed his admiration for national team captain Son Heung-min ahead of South Korea’s international friendly against Ghana on Tuesday in Seoul.

The former Tottenham forward is expected to lead South Korea at the Seoul World Cup Stadium as both nations renew their rivalry in a match serving as preparation for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana and South Korea last met at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where Ghana won 3-2. Speaking to Channel One TV on the increasing diversification of sports in his country, Park Kyongsig stated, "Sports is also one of the most important pillars of the exchange of our feelings together. Although I am an ambassador, I think each one of our soccer players is also an ambassador of the Korean culture and Korean sports."

"I highly admire all the national players. Everybody knows Son Heung-min. I highly admire his play; he is an excellent soccer player," he added.

Son Heung-min joined LAFC in Major League Soccer after a decade-long stay at Tottenham, and is expected to feature in the 11 am Ghana time kick-off.
