Tottenham confirm Mohammed Kudus out until April with quad tendon injury
· GhanaSoccernetTottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will be sidelined until April after suffering a tendon injury to his quadriceps, delivering a major setback for both club and country.
Kudus sustained the injury early this month during Tottenham’s home match against Sunderland, where he collapsed without contact and was substituted after just 19 minutes. Initial assessments suggested a minor issue, but further medical checks revealed the problem was more serious than first feared.
Providing an update on the injury, Tottenham manager Thomas Frank confirmed the extent of the setback and the expected return timeline.
“Kudus, unfortunately, is a bigger one to the tendon in the quad. That is one where we expect him back after the March international break,” Frank said.
The absence of the Ghana international comes at a difficult time for Tottenham Hotspur, who have struggled for goals and attacking consistency this season. Kudus has been one of the club’s most reliable performers, featuring regularly and providing pace, creativity, and attacking threat from wide areas. He has seven goal contributions in the Premier League this season.
The injury also raises concerns in Ghana, with the Black Stars technical team monitoring the situation closely ahead of upcoming international commitments. Kudus is considered a key figure in Ghana’s plans, and his recovery will be managed carefully to ensure he returns at full strength.
Tottenham have indicated that the focus will be on a cautious rehabilitation programme, with Kudus expected to resume action after the March international break if his recovery progresses as planned.
