Hearts of Oak enter season opener on high after pre-season success
· GhanaSoccernetHearts of Oak will begin the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season on Friday with renewed confidence, having enjoyed a productive pre-season under new coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani.
The Phobians lifted two trophies, including the prestigious Democracy Cup, after defeating rivals Accra Great Olympics, and went unbeaten in the GHALCA Top Four tournament.
These results have boosted optimism around the club as they prepare to face newly promoted Hohoe United in the league opener at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Dramani, who was appointed after Hearts finished fourth last season, has quickly reshaped the team and emphasised respect for their opponents ahead of the curtain-raiser.
"This is going to be a very tough encounter, very uncompromising, so we need to respect what they bring with their direct football, and so we will try to win the spaces, try to bring our identity to play in this encounter," Dramani said to Hearts TV.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT on Friday, September 12.
