Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has expressed satisfaction with his team's training camp as preparations continue for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Speaking to GFA Communications, the Swedish trainer said the camp has provided valuable lessons despite some challenges.

The Black Queens played two preparatory matches during the training period, including a demanding test against a boys' side. Lars explained that the encounter highlighted the physical demands of the game and pushed his players to improve.

"We have played two games and I would say especially the game that we had yesterday against the boys was a really like tough one for us, but it's really important for us. We know the physical aspect of football is important and we know the difference by nature between boys and girls," he said.

"So, they will challenge us when it comes to speed. And some of them were stronger and taller. So, we needed to be smarter to stay in the game, but we worked really hard. We had a good defense and some I'm really happy with that especially the game that we had yesterday and overall the camp have been good.

"We have missed a couple of training because of the weather, but that's also out of our control. Instead, we have been working out in the gym and had a lot of meetings. So, I'm overall I'm I'm really happy with this camp,"
