Ghana Black Queens head coach Kim Lars has stressed the importance of the team's upcoming pre-camp as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Speaking to GFA Communications, Lars expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far but emphasized that there is still significant work to be done before the continental tournament begins.

The coach revealed that Ghana plans to play between two and three friendly matches to fine-tune the squad and build momentum ahead of the competition.

"Of course, the pre-camp, before the upcoming WAFCON will be important. So, it's still, a couple of weeks of hard work to do, and, probably two, three friendly games before the upcoming WAFCON, but I'm happy where we are right now, and I'm looking forward to the WAFCON," he said.

So, for the next, month before we going to, catch up again, the plan will be, of course, a little bit different. Some of the players will go back to the teams because they're are still in season.

"For some of them, they going to, stay here in Ghana. For them, it's going to be important that they, they follow the program, that they are keep working hard. We have our fitness coach, Jordan. They're going to keep an eye on them.

"So, we need to to make sure that we keep working hard for the next month, and, already to step up even more when the pre-camp starts,"
