Head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz, has named a strong starting lineup for the international friendly against Wales.

The fixture forms part of Ghana’s ongoing preparations for the global tournament, with Queiroz using the match to assess combinations and tactical balance after finalising his 26-man World Cup squad submitted to FIFA.

Despite being a friendly, the Portuguese manager is treating the encounter with seriousness as he continues to shape his ideal team.

Queiroz has named a competitive side led by captain Jordan Ayew, who will once again play a key leadership role for the Black Stars.

In goal, Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been handed the starting spot. The Swiss-based goalkeeper will operate behind a defensive line featuring Gideon Mensah, Jerome Opoku and Jonas Adjei Adjetey at the back.

In midfield, Thomas Partey is paired with Elisha Owusu, forming a combination expected to provide both defensive stability and forward progression.

In the attack, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Prince Adu Kwabena join Jordan Ayew.

The international friendly between Ghana and Wales is scheduled to kick off at 6:45 pm at the Cardiff City Stadium.
