Speaking in a pre-match interview ahead of the Group L meeting, the veteran Portuguese tactician noted that the game is a must-win for his side.
“It's a must-win game [against Panama. I don't remember in my life any game I played that wasn't a must-win. Our value is based on results, and the only medicine that works in football is to win,” Carlos Oueiroz told reporters.
Ghana’s opening match against Panama is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, and will kick off at 23:00GMT.
A win for the Black Stars will provide the team with a lot of confidence before heading into difficult matches against Croatia and England.
For Panama, the Central American side is aiming for what will be its first win in the history of the World Cup.
