Kotoko now focused on GPL; won’t continue crying over Wydad AC defeat - Karim Zito
· GhanaSoccernetAsante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has indicated that his team has moved on from the CAF Confederation Cup humiliation suffered at the hands of Wydad AC.
The Porcupine Warriors faced the Moroccan outfit in the final preliminary round of the CAF inter-club competition last week.
Over the two legs, Wydad AC thumped Asante Kotoko 6-1 on aggregate, denying the Ghanaian giants a spot in the group stage of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
According to Abdul Karim Zito, the defeat, which was tough to take, is now behind his side, with focus now on competing and challenging for the Ghana Premier League title.
“It wasn’t easy, but we had to recover, so we are out of it, and now we are preparing for the league. We can’t keep crying over what happened. So far, so good, we are working towards the league,” the Kotoko coach told AKSC Media.
Up next for Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League, the team will face off with Karela United on Sunday, November 2.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
