Black Stars players more than committed – Sports Minister Kofi Adams

Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams has reaffirmed the commitment of Black Stars players despite missing out on the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars players restored national pride after securing qualification to the 2026 World Cup tournament to be held in North America. Concerns has been raised amid the Black Stars unimpressive performances in major tournaments.

A chunk of football fanatics criticized the Black Stars commitment after missing out on the AFCON for the first time in over 20 years.

But Kofi Adams has jumped to the defense of the players, insisting they are committed to serving their country despite recent setbacks.

"Black Stars players are more than committed. I said that I wished we had qualified for the AFCON to be able to have the test. This commitment is not just the commitment of just preparing the players, but we want to even prepare them and give Ghanaians the opportunity to also have a feel of what the team has to offer”

With regards to preparations, camping and others, Kofi Adams said, "We've had conversation with the FA and we know what we want to do, which will involve the generality of Ghanaians also."

Ghana will learn their group opponent for the impending 2026 World Cup on Friday, December 5, 2025.
