GPL: Eleven Wonders coach Emmanuel Aidoo confident about survival after crucial victory over Holy Stars
· GhanaSoccernetEleven Wonders coach Emmanuel Aidoo shared his satisfaction on Friday afternoon after leading the team to a crucial 2-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League.
In a Week 18 fixture played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, a brace from Rauf Munah secured all three points for the struggling side.
Speaking in his post-match interview, coach Emmanuel Aidoo noted that his team was inspired to fight for the win by their resolve to avoid relegation at the end of the season.
“The first half we didn’t live up to the expectations, so we spoke, and the second half they [the players] were alive,” the Eleven Wonders coach said.
Aidoo added, “We are on a rescue mission, so it’s not over until it's over. We ended the first round with a lot of disappointment, so we regrouped and told ourselves we needed to work harder.”
The win over Holy Stars on Friday is the second for Eleven Wonders since the 2025/26 league campaign commenced.
With just nine points, the team sits bottom of the league standings and faces a difficult task in their bid to stay up.
