Sky Sports pundit and lead EFL Goal of the Month judge Don Goodman has hailed Abdul Fatawu’s latest award-winning strike as one of the finest of his career.

The Leicester City winger claimed the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for February 2026, marking his second win of the season and his third time on the shortlist.

The winning goal came during Leicester’s clinical performance against Birmingham City on February 7. Goodman, who chairs the judging panel, was particularly impressed by the technical difficulty involved in the build-up and the sheer power of the finish.

He noted that the ball reached Fatawu at a high velocity, requiring exceptional composure to control.

“Abdul Fatawu has been a regular on the Goal of the Month shortlist, and this was one of his best,” Goodman remarked during the official announcement.

“The ball came at him quickly and he did brilliantly to take it on his chest and set up a shooting chance. When the ball finally dropped for him, he lashed an unstoppable volley into the back of the net.”

Fatawu’s February triumph adds to an impressive individual campaign, following his August 2025 Goal of the Month win for a solo effort against Charlton Athletic.
