Dogo Yakubu signing part of Kotoko’s plan for the future - Karim Zito
· GhanaSoccernetAsante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has indicated that the signing of young striker Dogo Yakubu forms part of the club’s long-term plan for the future.
The Kumasi-based club announced the acquisition of the 21-year-old striker on Monday, January 12, stating that the forward has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
“Asante Kotoko is pleased to announce the signing of 21-year-old striker Dogo Yakubu on a three-and-a-half-year contract following the successful completion of his medical," the club said in a notice on its website.
Speaking on the young striker’s arrival, Karim Zito emphasised that Kotoko are keen on helping Dogo to develop to become an important player for the team in the future.
“This signing is part of our plan for the future. Dogo is young, hungry, and has the qualities we look for in a modern striker. We believe in giving young players the right platform to develop, and this is the right environment for him to grow, gain confidence, and become an important player for the club over time,” Zito told AKSC Media.
Dogo Yakubu has joined the Ghana Premier League giants from Midcity Football Academy.
